The audiovisual production

Based upon its overall budget, in 2017 the Italian audiovisual production industry (excluding the news and sports genres) has totaled a value of nearly €1 billion.

When measured in editorial macro-areas, the Italian audiovisual industry reveals the primacy of non-factual scripted genres (TV Movies, series, miniseries, sit-coms, soap-operas, telefilms) per value of production.

Overall, this content accounts for about 38% of the entire audiovisual product market, with a production value between €360 and € 380 million.

Other television and Internet / OTT genres (animation, entertainment shows, talk shows, documentaries, factual and in-depth programs, etc.) total between €310 and € 340 million.
