The challenge to achieve an economic evaluation of the sector

The economic volume ofthe domestic audiovisual production within its three main segments (TV content, cinema and OTT products) hasn’t yet been quantified. In other words, there are no researches that offer us the possibility to understand the fundamental and most recent trends of the sector on a quantitative basis.

Some indicators – as for example the total value of production by genre, by prime platform destination, by export volumes, or by contribution of foreign investors etc. – could be extremely useful to understand a sector that even if of great importance hasn’t yet been “explored” sufficiently by quantitative surveys.
