Dynamics of added value and employment in the audiovisual sector in the main metropolitan cities

Among the four cities that represent the sector, Rome has experienced the worst dynamics: added value was contracted by -3.9% between 2011 and 2017 while employment, in the same time period, recorded a -8.4 %. Even in the short term, the province of Rome seems to be late in responding to the stimuli recently introduced in the sector: in 2017 alone, the added value went down by about -4.5%, with employment falling by over 5%.

Returning to medium-term dynamics, in addition to Naples (+ 17.9%), also Turin recorded a positive variation of its added value (+ 2.0%), associated with a negative employment trend (-0,9%). The most recent state of affairs (2016-2017) presents more encouraging results for the province, with the number of employees growing again (+ 1.1%).
