Original titles prevail over renewals, although new entries are slightly down compared to the previous season (from 87 to 83). Their hourly relevance is also more limited (43%, – 17%). 57% of the novelty programming is made up of renewals: +5 titles and +10.5% hours compared to 2021/2022.
The offer in detail
On linear TV, there are 60% original titles and 40% novelties (linear TV new products: -13 titles and -28% of hours compared to the previous season). Above all, soap operas have an impact on renewals in hourly terms. Streaming allows for experimentation: around 9 out of 10 titles are original. 9 new titles are recorded on OTTs (+20% hourly volume).
The Innovation index of seriality / Titles and Hours
New series decrease from 35 to 32 (-9%), with a more limited hourly relevance (35% of the total, – 18%). Of the total production hours, 66% of the programming are renewals (+4 titles, +11% hours compared to 2021/2022). In the OTT catalogs, around 8 out of 10 titles are series with previous seasons.
The innovation index of TV series by genre / Titles
Among the genres that drive innovation in terms of titles are Crime, Teen, and Period. A low novelty rate in terms of hours is due to the large volume of soap opera renewals.
