The entertainment innovation index

Original titles prevail but with a contraction of -9% compared to the 2021/22 season The renewal offer is increasing (+10% titles and +15% hours of programming)

The Entertainment innovation index by genre / Titles
Docs are the innovative genre par excellence (86% original titles and 75% hours). Among other genres, Infotainment and T-R-D increase their original content (respectively +296% and +111% hours of programming). Original Magazines decrease (-23% titles and -26% hours)

The entertainment innovation index
Short products increase (45% titles up to 4 episodes): one-shots increase (+9%), just as 2-4 episode formats (+28%). Innovation is also linked to short formats: 88% of one-shot titles are original.

The entertainment innovation index: Llnear vs. streaming
Innovation grows especially on streaming: 77% of OTT titles are new to the season (with an increase of 33%). Original products decrease within the linear offer (48% of the total, with a decrease of -15%)

The entertainment innovation index: generalist vs. multichannel
On generalist channels, only 37% are original titles, down -67% compared to the 2021-22 season Reverse ratio for multichannel models: 61% of titles are original (+69%)

Players innovation (1/3)
Rai is the most innovative broadcaster with 4 channels among the top 5 with the highest rate of original titles: Raitre (+15%) and Rai1 (+26%) increasing, Rai2 decreasing (-33%). Increased original products on Food Network and TV 2000. Among OTTs, RaiPlay (+56%) and Amazon Prime Video (+108%) leaped.

TV8 is the channel that experiments the most with respect to the total unscripted offering (84% of original titles in terms of hours). Thematic channels consolidate as experimental fields; Raidue first among generalists (45%)

Among OTTs, Netflix and Discovery+ present the highest volume of new releases out of the total unscripted offerings of Paramount+ and Amazon Prime Video: approximately 3/4 of original titles

Only 1/4 of the format adaptations are new to the season (ratio in line with the previous season)
