For its breakthrough in the United States of America, the Italian production company Gruppo Alcuni has chosen “Leo Da Vinci – Mission Mona Lisa”, the animated cartoon directed by Sergio Manfio with the support of Anna Manfio and Davide Stefanato.
On August 2nd, the film will arrive in 9 American states, and will then be distributed on DVD, cable TV and pay TV.
The cartoon tells the story of a young Leonardo Da Vinci who goes in search of a magnificent treasure with his best friend and Lisa, the girl he is secretly in love with.
The film, which was released in Italy last year, is targeted at a young audience. Thanks to its liveliness and exceptional graphics, it has progressively carved out its own space in the cartoon world.
Given the presence of animation giants such as Disney, Warner and Pixar, the conquest of the United States seems quite ambitious for Gruppo Alcuni. However, since the film has already been praised in many countries, breaking records at the box office in Serbia, Montenegro, Slovakia and North Korea, the challenge does not look impossible.
The huge success of “Leo Da Vinci – Mission Mona Lisa” has prompted Gruppo Alcuni to speed up the production of a TV series based on the film, which will be co-produced by Rai Ragazzi, Cosmos Animation Singapore and All Rights Entertainment. The first episodes will be broadcast on Rai Gulp from September 10th.
