Theatrical-video-tv production companies
In constant growth over the past few years, in 2020 the cumulative revenues of the top 50 production companies underwent a decline of a few percentage points.
The decline is essentially due to the contraction in revenues from theatrical productions and the related distribution activities. On the other hand, the revenues of companies active in TV and VoD drama have increased. These activities have suffered slowdowns and postponements in the first half of 2020.

Many of the companies analyzed have had access to tax credit for theatrical and/or audiovisual productions and/or selective contributions for the same years.
Based on these criteria, the study identified 814 joint stock companies, mainly (but not exclusively) registered with the Ateco code 59.11. For 76 companies, it was not possible to find the 2019 financial statements and for this reason the total number of companies analyzed here is 738.
The cumulative Production Value of the 738 companies is € 2,164 million for 2019.
