Increases / decreases

The generalist model has grown in titles: +27% in-house productions and + 13% indies. As for the hours, 10% was lost (in-house -7%; outsourced -16%).
Detailing the title increase, in-house productions have grown by 50% in the Rai group. Outsourced productions grow only in Rai (+ 25%) while they drop in Mediaset (-8%) and Cairo Communication (-41%).

Multi-channel production model
Detailing the in-house and outsourced ratio, outsourced productions prevail with 68% of titles and 57% hours (but in the previous season it was 81% and 67% compared to the sample!) The polarization between indie commissioner networks vs in-house production networks is strengthened.

Increases:
Titles grow by 24% compared to last year (4% outsourced content; 104% In-house content)
The hours, on the other hand, have grown by 39% overall (in-house content +54%, while outsourced content drops slightly: (-3%).

  • Multi-channel model:
    Mainly outsourced: Dmax (88%) Realtime (97%), SkyArte (96%)
  • In-house productions:
    Mainly in-house: Rai5 (71%), Focus (81%), TV2000 (88%) RaiStoria (96%), RaiPremium (100%),La5; Iris; Canale 20.

OTT production model
The streaming model favors independent productions, but in-house titles have however increased (last year’s ratio was 75% vs 25%) thanks to the role of Raiplay. The percentage increase compared to last year marks +92% of in-house titles and +29% of outsourced titles (total increase + 39%)

Entertainment recorded a total loss of 19% on the daily average of generalist channels
