Notes on the method

The 2018-2019 seasonal balance examines all Italian titles (hereafter, also TV fiction) broadcasted primetime on Rai, Mediaset, Sky, Disney, Fox, Netflix, TIMVision. Only where expressly indicated reruns are also included.

The study refers to a period of twelve months and is divided as follows:

• Season (from September 2018 to May 2019)
• Summer (from June 2019 to August 2019)

This report contains elaborations for season 2018-2019 and summer 2019 but it also breaks down and analyzes the trends of many variables (number of hours, evenings, titles). Diachronic titles were launched in season 2006-2007, a season that recorded the highest volume of TV fiction ever supplied by Rai and Mediaset till today.

Data referring to season 2018-2019 or to interseason comparison (2018-2019 vs 2017-2018) take into consideration the content of Rai, Mediaset, Sky, Disney, Fox, Netflix, TIMVision. 

For the diachronic titles, only Rai and Mediaset content has been taken into consideration.
