- Rai confirms a consolidated genre diversification of its library: compared to the last season, the number of titles is the same with minor changes among genres.
- Crime is the leading genre of both Raiuno and Raidue, and once again guides the fiction offer of Rai. Compared to the past season it has increased in titles (+3).
- TV movies and limited series dedicated to characters, events and literary adaptations belonging to Italy’s identity and collective memory are slightly decreasing compared to the last season and are again exclusively broadcast by Rai’s flagship, Raiuno.
- Relational comedies and dramedies are a transversal resource for all operators: generalist, specialized and platforms.
- Hospital and social dramas are a transversal and minor but significant genre.
- Thanks to soap operas, melodrama is aired on both Raiuno and Raitre.
- The only 2020-2021 short-length comedy series is a sketchcom.

- The 13 crime titles, all series, are mainly broadcast in primetime, and represent the most systematic choice in Rai’s primetime programming.
- In contrast, the 7 titles inspired by identity and collective memory, mainly TV movies, are aired in primetime to a much lesser extent.
- The primetime airing of relational and comedy – genres that are almost exclusively serial – is similar, although the number of titles of this macro-genre is higher. Relational titles have less evenings, since several titles belonging to this macro-genre are made by Rai Gulp and Rai Play for “teens” and don’t require primetime as a standard.
- Until a few seasons ago, melodrama was the leading genre in Raiuno’s primetime offer, but it gradually shrank and today can mainly be found in daily soap operas. This season, only one melodrama aired in primetime.
