Values
Fewer Titles, but of Greater Value
An increase in production value counterbalances the decrease in supply: the total cost of works registered by the Ministry of Culture* and broadcast this season is approximately €894 million (+15% vs 2023/2024), with a significant increase in cost per minute (€27,139; +26%), mainly thanks to historical international co-productions (M. Son of the Century, L’amica geniale, The Leopard).

The cost analysis is conducted on a smaller sample of titles compared to those monitored by CeRTA: 80 out of 93 in the 2024/25 season, 107 out of 123 in the 2023/24 season, and 102 out of 116 in the 2022/23 season. The sample only includes works for which budget data could be obtained from the Database of Works of the Directorate General of Cinema and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture (as of the last consultation date: 31 May 2025). The estimates presented here are therefore inevitably understated compared to the actual cost of the original offer.
