The award ceremony of MIA|MERCATO INTERNAZIONALE AUDIOVISIVO<\/strong> took place yesterday. During the cerimony, the prizes of this sixth edition were distributed on the eve of the closing.
To introduce the awards Lucia Milazzotto, Market Director, together with Chiara Sbarigia, APA General Manager and President of APA Service, and Mina Larocca, General Manager of ANICA.<\/strong>
The ceremony was held in the setting of Palazzo Barberini<\/strong> and was streamed on the MIA DIGITAL platform<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EURIMAGES CO-PRODUCTION DEVELOPMENT AWARD<\/strong> for MIA|Film Coproduction Market projects is awarded this year to DALVA<\/em> by Emmanuelle Nicot, produced by Julie Esparbes (H\u00e9licotronc, Belgium) and Delphine Schmit (Tripode Productions, France).<\/strong>
A special jury has proclaimed EBBA<\/em> by Johanna Pyykk\u00f6 (Norway), produced by Verona Meier (Ape&Bj\u00f8rn)<\/strong>, winner of ARTE KINO INTERNATIONAL PRIZE<\/strong>, a prize of 6,000 euros with which ARTE intends to support the development of a project at MIA Film Coproduction Market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winner of the VIACOMCBS INTERNATIONAL STUDIOS AWARD<\/strong> \u2013 a division of ViacomCBSNetworks<\/strong> International \u2013 is MISS FALLACI TAKES AMERICA<\/em>, produced by Minerva Pictures and Redstring<\/strong>. Jaime Ondarza (Executive Vice President and General Manager South Hub, ViacomCBS EMEEA) awarded producers Gianluca Curti and Cosetta Lagani for Minerva Pictures together with director and author Alessandra Gonnella<\/strong>. The jury also decided to award a special mention to CULT<\/em>, produced by Notorius Pictures and created by Francesco Patierno and Sergio Nazzaro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the third consecutive year, National Geographic<\/strong> returns to sponsor the prestigious NAT GEO Award for Best Pitch<\/strong>, confirming MIA|DOC\u2019s vocation to identify projects capable of combining great artistic and productive qualities and significant commercial potential. This year\u2019s winning documentary is: DARKSIDE, THE QUEST FOR DARK MATTER DETECTION<\/em> by Matias Guerra and Matteo Corbi.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MIA 2020 also hosts, as usual, the CARLO BIXIO AWARD<\/strong>, promoted by APA, RAI and RTI<\/strong>, and realized under the patronage of SIAE; the three winners are TANEEN<\/em> by Greta Frontani and Elisa Orrico<\/strong> (Carlo Bixio Award for best subject); Il Caso Serena Mollicone<\/em> by Matteo Bianchi and Raffaele Grasso<\/strong> (Carlo Bixio Award for best series concept).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Societ\u00e0 Cordusio<\/strong>, which this year supports the initiative, awards two thousand euros and the plaque \u201cCordusio per i Giovani\u201d to Non chiamateci influencer<\/em> by Susanna Ciucci, Ilaria Polimeni and Elettra Sofia Mauri.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also this year, Regione Lazio<\/strong> has awarded the LAZIO FRAMES AWARD<\/strong> to a work in the sections of MIA \u2013 What\u2019s Next Italy, GREENlit and Italians Doc It Better<\/strong>, whose content, productive impact, possible international developments and the involvement of local resources can best represent the productive potential of Lazio. The Award was won by La verit\u00e0 su La dolce vita<\/em> by Giuseppe Pedersoli, produced by Arietta Cinematografica (Gaia Gorrini).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the titles in the category C EU SOON<\/strong> to compete for the SCREEN INTERNATIONAL BUYERS\u2019 CHOICE AWARD<\/strong>, win ex aequo DARK HEART OF THE FOREST (Le coeur noir des for\u00eats)<\/em> by Serge Mirzabekiantz<\/strong> (Belgium, France) produced by H\u00e9licotronc (Belgium) and Sacrebleu Productions (France)<\/strong> and THE PENULTIMATE (Den N\u00e6stsidste)<\/em> by Jonas K\u00e6rup Hjort (Denmark, Norway) produced by Rikke Tambo Andersen (Tambo Film, Denmark) and Gary Cranner (Chezville, Norway).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MIA was born from the consolidated joint venture and the joint commitment between ANICA and APA<\/strong>, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Italian Trade Agency for the promotion and internationalization of Italian businesses and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism<\/strong>, which have accompanied the event since the first year. Among the partners also the Creative Europe \u2013 MEDIA Programme, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Lazio Region.<\/strong>
The collaboration also includes Unicredit; Apulia Film Commission; Fondazione Cinema per Roma; Eurimages<\/strong>; for this edition, MIA once again avails itself of the contribution of the Editorial Committee open to all trade associations: Italian Audiovisual Associations \u2013 100autori, AGICI, ANICA, APA, Cartoon it, CNA, Italian Film Commission, Doc\/it, LARA, UNEFA.
